New Invention: Protected shackle padlock

An inventor from Israel presented at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva 2014 the invention: “Protected shackle padlock”.

The lock may be locked using a specialized shackle or a standard shackle. Through the use of hasps, the specialized shackle will fit flush with the inclined surface of the hasps which would offer the obvious advantages stemming from this fact. When a standard shackle is used, the padlock will be used just like any other padlock. Additionally, this lock has locking ribs and cams that fit into the hasps. This makes the shackle redundant and enables the use of hasps with no shackle openings. If a shackle is used, it may be fitted with specialized pins that prevent flame cutting and sawing.

Another feature of this lock involves the fact that both body halves are perfectly identical – which reduces inventories and costs. Both halves are held together by bolts and secured in place by the shackle toes (when a shackle is used) and/or by the hasps (when hasps are used).
