New invention: NIDS (NAHRIM integrated drainage system)

Several researchers from Malaysia  presented at the Nuremberg IENA Invention Fair 2013 their invention: NIDS (NAHRIM Integrated drainage system).

This system is designed to replace the existing drainage system which is made of concrete and earth. It is an environmental friendly system which does not only carry runoff, but at the same time traps gross pollutant such as debris, sediment and contaminants. Also, it treats dissolved pollutants such as agricultural chemicals and heavy metals, and at the same time allows the water that has been treated to seep into the groundwater as a reserve for future extraction.

This invention has a potential for broad international application and its application will have positive medical effects.
