New Invention: Multi-purpose controlled plasma stabilizer

Inventors from Russia presented at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva 2014 the invention: “Plate glass defect detection program”.

The method is implemented on the basis of the unique design of the plasma triode, the anode of which like a diaphragm having a central hole, and it is mounted between the cathode and control electrode. This scheme is the first to implement the control of electron groups of different energies in the gaps of the triode. It was found that the take-off of slow electrons through the anode hole to the external control electrode makes it possible to manage the sign of the differential resistance (Rd) of the current-voltage characteristics of the device.  In all cases of Rd sign change from negative to positive any plasma oscillations and instability get quenched and disappear completely.

Advantages:

The method can be prospectively used in such areas as:

  • creation of reliable systems of environmental monitoring and protection at nuclear power plants, installations, submarines as well as mining and processing of radioactive minerals;
  • development of powerful stabilizers of current and voltage in low-voltage high-current circuits of industrial enterprises.
