New invention: Method and system for apparel pattern drafting

An inventor from Malaysia presented at the Brussels Innova Invention Fair 2013 the invention: Method and system for apparel pattern drafting.

Abstract

Hazi Attire is created under Busana Cad engine using LISP Program. It is able to draft various patterns for Hazi Attire from fitted, semi-fitted and loose silhouettes. It is fully automatic and the users can select styles from the menu on the screen and enter their measurements. Within five seconds the pattern is ready to be printed and sewn. The process involved a study on human body measurement. The measurements were transferred into a drawing and tested on human body. If the pattern fit, a further study on the pattern is conducted, whereby in the process, mathematical expressions are developed to allow the pattern to be programmed. The program that has been written is loaded into AutoCad, which allows user to embed any application inside the framework. After the programming aspect is completed, a pattern is generated and tested again on human figure.

This invention has a potential for broad international application. The inventor is interested in commercialization of the invention and is seeking appropriate interested manufacturer.
