New invention: Cyber Eye system including software for analyzing the state of consciousness of patients in unresponsive wakefulness syndrome

Group of inventors from Poland presented at the Brussels Innova Invention Fair 2013 the invention: Cyber Eye system including software for analyzing the state of consciousness of patients in unresponsive wakefulness syndrome.

Cyber Eye is in integrated computer system comprising eye tracking module, brain electrical activity analyzing module and a module emitting olfactory stimuli. Thanks to the eye tracking module the system allows establishing by paraplegic person, unable to formulate voice messages, contact with such person’s environment. Brain electrical activity analysis module processes, analyzes and interprets EEG waves recorded y electrodes attached to patient’s head. This module allows to learn patient’s mood and emotions, as well as detect movement intentions of upper and lower limbs.

This invention has a potential for broad international application and it is currently being used in three healthcare facilities. The inventors are interested in commercialization of the invention and are seeking appropriate interested manufacturer.
