New Invention: Bicycle with enhanced energy recovery system
Inventors from Romania presented at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva 2014 the invention: “Bicycle with enhanced energy recovery system”.
Characteristics of the invention:
- It ensures the charges of the batteries even when the bicycle moves at low speeds by using an additional converter, which supplies with the relatively small and variable pressure of the bicycle’s engine connected as generator and it supplies a pressure of a higher and stabilized value, of a value specific to charging the bicycle’s own batteries, the pressure which is maintained at optimal value, based on the higher power which the generator can debit including at the lower revolutions.
- It is fitted with a computer system, made out of two micro-controllers that ensure the cruise control regime by simply programming through buttons placed on close proximity to the hands on the handlebars that are operated by pressure pulses without the need to take the hands off the handlebars, the charge and discharge regimes being optimized, and through information coming from a gyroscopic sensor that detects the inclination of the road.
Advantages:
- it ensures a degree of travel autonomy which may be increased en route by using any local possibility such as large or small slopes, electric brakes and/or the voluntary pedaling input for the charging of batteries;
- it offers a means of fitness in short or average recreational walks by pedaling which consumes the physical energy of the rider who voluntary chooses the battery charge mode on flat portions, at low, average and high speeds.
