New Invention: “Permanent” total artificial cardiac

An inventor from Turkey presented at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva 2014 the invention “Permanent total artificial cardiac”.

The invention has been improved for patients who are at end-stage cardiac insufficiency and have been taken to the cardiac transplant programme and it is about total artificial cardiac pacemaker which can be placed in intraventicular of patient’s heart or can be placed in free place from where part of ventricular of patient’s heart removed. It is required quite a little energy for pulsative blood flow which produced by specially designed motors with EKG signals by the way of stopping and running.

The invention is placed into the lateral ventricular of heart with a surgical intervention and during this operation it is not touched to atriums, and also heart conduction system is protected which is consistent of patient’s aorta and pulmonic cardiac valve and sinoatrial node, atrioventricular node and conduction pathways. Thus, patients will continue their life without any problem with their own cardiac valves instead of prothesis valve and with the rhythm of their own natural cardiac. Electric system ensuring heart’s work is called “heart conduction system”. As heart conduction system is not damaged during placing of artificial heart, sinus node will continue to produce EKG signals, these signals will be detected by the artificial heart system and it will create pulsative blood flow once making it running and once stopping it. In other words, artificial heart will not be controlled by its own microprocessor but it will be controlled by the patient’s sinus node, thus the patient will continue his life with his own heart’s natural sinus rhythm, when the patient makes effort, his heart rhythm will accelerate, when takes a rest, it will slow down.

The inventor is interested in commercialization of this invention and is seeking appropriate interested manufacturer. European Patent Registration and Consulting Services GmbH has made direct contact with the inventor and has access to information about the invention directly from the inventor.
