New Invention: System for determining the need for angiography in patients with symptoms of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)

A cardiologist from Iran presented at the Geneva Invention Fair 2013 the invention: „A system for determining the need for angiography in patients with symptoms of coronary artery disease (CAD)“

The invention achieves an accuracy rate of 94,28% and sensitivity of 100% for the detection of CAD using a non – invasive and less costly method on a dataset gathered from 303 visitors to one cardiovascular medical and research center in Iran. Such high rates of accuracy and sensitivity have not been attained before. 100% sensitivity shows that all CAD patients are recognized and the system can be used to determine the need for angiography. This invention will lower the costs for dermination of the CAD disease with high accuracy rate.

The Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is one of the cardiovascular diseases with an anual mortality rate of abuot 7 million. Accordingly, this invention has the potential for broad international application for reducing mortality rates from this disease.

The inventor is interested in commercialization and is seeking appropriate interested manufacturer.  EPO Patent Registration Services and Consulting GmbH has made direct contact with the inventor and has information about the invention.
